Bars

Detroit has no shortage of bars serving up great bevs. From wine bars to dives, speakeasies to breweries, we cover the gamut. Here are our go to’s:

  • Vesper Books & Wine hold a special place in our heart. With immaculate vibes from their truly inspiring vintage furniture collection, not are they serving up a fantastic selection of natural wines by the bottle or by the glass, they also have the best selection of cookbooks for purchase in town!

  • Paramita Sound is located right in the heart of downtown. Paramita is a listening bar, spinning great vinyl and pouring great wines.

  • Stadt Garden is the perfect spot to chill out and kick back on a nice day. They specialize in Eastern European wines and beers with the majority of their seating in the beautiful front garden of an historic Victorian mansion. This is actually Henry’s happy place.

  • Queen’s Bar, an aesthetic-ass bar in downtown nails classic cocktails is the perfect spot for a late night or to chill on the pario.

  • Father Forgive Me, located in the Little Village, is a lux spot to soak in some sun with a beautiful cocktail and some light bites after viewing the art exhibition of The Shepherd next door.

  • The Brakeman is located on the ground floor of the wedding venue and is a great beer bar if you want to get a bit rowdy! You buy tokens at the door, with one token buying one beer; enjoy the giant Jenga and beer pong tables.

  • Bar Chenin, a James Beard finalist this year, is an intimate (read, 12 seats and some standingroom) wine bar with the best wine selection I’ve seen in some time and some truly great bites.

  • Two Birds is a cocktail bar in the stunning Indian Village neighborhood. The perfect spot for a group to sit, sip and chat in a lively atmosphere. They are mixing up some uniquely goated drinks.
